1. A ratio is a statement of how two numbers compare. It is a comparison of the size of one number to the size of another number. Remember that there are three ways to show a ratio: 1. # to # 2. # : # 3. #/# So there are 9 school signs and 10 stop signs how would we show that into a ratio?

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Do you get my explanation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Good xD. Now for number 2 to get the answer we would simplify each ratio including the ratio provided with the question now if one of the answers simplifies to the same ratio then that would be the answer.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay

563blackghost (563blackghost):

For 6 I had explained it in the 1st question: A ratio can be written in 3 different forms which is: 1. #/# 2. # : # 3. # to #

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Now for 5 I would simply divide the minutes by the words typed and you should get the unit rate of each and choose the answer that has the most typed per minute.

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Now for 7 it is the same thing as 5 you would divide the number of fluid ounces by the store price and should get how much fluid ounces can be bought with one dollar which would be the unit rate.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so number one is

563blackghost (563blackghost):

For 3 and 4 It would be the same way as 5 and 7. So for 3 you would divide 8 meters by 10 seconds to get how many meters per second and for 4 you would divided 286 miles by 5 1/2 hours to get how many miles per hour.

563blackghost (563blackghost):

Number 8 I dont really know. Sorry. I hope I was helpful xD
