OpenStudy (jettddl):

Dustin is mixing concrete. A formula for concrete calls for gal of water. Dustin wants to make more concrete than the formula creates. How much water should Dustin use? Express your answer as a fraction in simplest form.

OpenStudy (jettddl):

The 1st fraction is 3/8 the other one is 7/9

OpenStudy (jettddl):

so 3/8 times 16/9

OpenStudy (cpinder):

So I did it a different way than the first way I suggested because I was confusing myself, but if 3/8 water will give you 1 concrete, how much water will give you 7/9 concrete?|dw:1447742342599:dw| This is the water to concrete ratio according to the formula. |dw:1447742418345:dw| This is the ratio you are trying to figure out. How much water to 7/9 of concrete? Solve for x. Add 3/8 to x and that will be how much water Dustin needs.
