imqwerty (imqwerty):
hey :)
imqwerty (imqwerty):
ok did u try to solve this ques?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yeah,im not good with this lol
imqwerty (imqwerty):
ok so our aim is to find x
OpenStudy (anonymous):
especially fractoins

imqwerty (imqwerty):
ok i'll help
1st we gotta combine all the x terms together
imqwerty (imqwerty):
u have this-\[4x+11=\frac{ 1 }{ 2 }x+2\]
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Okay, sorry my Wifi wen down
imqwerty (imqwerty):
its okay B)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so coimbine 4 and one half? 4\[4 \frac{ 1 }{ 2 }x\]1/2x

jus loook at the bod for numbers haha
OpenStudy (anonymous):
X can either be 4,11,or 2
imqwerty (imqwerty):
no no
imqwerty (imqwerty):
no its not like that
so we gotta combine all the x terms together
\[4x+11=\frac{ 1 }{ 2 }x+2\]
lets remove that 1/2x on the right
so we just subtract 1/2x from the right as well as from the left
imqwerty (imqwerty):
now u tell what will we get after doing this^

so you know have....\[3.5x+11=2\]
OpenStudy (anonymous):
I*
imqwerty (imqwerty):
correct!
so we get this-
3.5x+11=2
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Do i then subtract 11 from each side?
At the end i need the X and Y value
OpenStudy (anonymous):
My ending options are (2,3) (4,1) (11,2) (3,2)

I also have 3.5x=-9
OpenStudy (anonymous):
\[3.5x=-9\]
imqwerty (imqwerty):
yes :)
is there any option matching with it :)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
no
imqwerty (imqwerty):
oh ok
so we have this right now-
3.5x= -9
now to completely isolate x we gotta remove that 3.5
try dividing by 3.5 all over

\[x=-2.5714285714\]
OpenStudy (anonymous):
the 4 points i listed above are all of my options
imqwerty (imqwerty):
hmm i think theres prolly some prblm with the ques
plz check the ques again
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Copy and pate.. Find the solution to the system of equations below y=-4x=11 y=1/2x+2
OpenStudy (anonymous):
omg i totally did not put in the neagtive sign did i!

imqwerty (imqwerty):
no (:
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so insead of that negative 2.57 lalalalala it would be postive?
imqwerty (imqwerty):
no
is it this --> y=-4x=11?
2 equal signs?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
no my laptop did that, y=-4x+11 and y=1/2x +2
imqwerty (imqwerty):
ok
so now u got y=-4x+11 and y=1/2x +2
so
\[-4x+11=\frac{ 1 }{2 }x+2\]now find x
now try to find out x

2.57
imqwerty (imqwerty):
no
imqwerty (imqwerty):
what was ur 1st step
OpenStudy (anonymous):
combine x
OpenStudy (anonymous):
-4.5x

OpenStudy (anonymous):
-4.5x+11=2....
OpenStudy (anonymous):
which turns into.. -4.5x=-9
OpenStudy (anonymous):
then divide by -4.5 which leaves you with 2?
imqwerty (imqwerty):
yes :)
so u got x=2
OpenStudy (anonymous):
So now how would i find the Y part of this..

YAY! Thank you
imqwerty (imqwerty):
ok we have x =2
and u know that \[y=-4x+11\]and\[y=\frac{ 1 }{ 2 }x+2\]
u just put x=2 in any of these equations to get y
they will give u the same result :)
OpenStudy (anonymous):
\[4\left( 8 \right)+11=43\]
imqwerty (imqwerty):
that is negative 4
OpenStudy (anonymous):
oh god im sorry....been at this for HOUrs
