no options is hand writen
OpenStudy (malcolmmcswain):
A looks like it's the rough structure that surrounds the nucleus. Do you know what that's called?
OpenStudy (stuck-help):
no
OpenStudy (malcolmmcswain):
Hint: there are two types, rough and smooth
OpenStudy (malcolmmcswain):
Another hint: it is abbreviated as ER

proton nuetron ????
OpenStudy (malcolmmcswain):
Have you studied cell anatomy before?
OpenStudy (stuck-help):
i dont think so
OpenStudy (malcolmmcswain):
Ok... you don't seem ready for this. Proton and neutron are parts of the cell.
OpenStudy (malcolmmcswain):
*aren't

They're parts of an atom.
OpenStudy (malcolmmcswain):
That's ok, though, we're here to learn.
OpenStudy (malcolmmcswain):
Let me attach a diagram of the cell.
OpenStudy (stuck-help):
ok i have no idea
OpenStudy (malcolmmcswain):
Ok, attached is a diagram of a cell. Study it for a moment, then I'll tell you what each part of the cell does:

OpenStudy (malcolmmcswain):
Your body is made up of cells.
OpenStudy (stuck-help):
ok understand able
OpenStudy (malcolmmcswain):
This is the inside of a eukaryotic cell.

A eukaryote is just an organism like an animal. (i.e. a giraffe would be a eukaryote)
OpenStudy (malcolmmcswain):
The center of the cell is called the nucleus.
OpenStudy (malcolmmcswain):
The cell nucleus is a double membrane‐bound organelle that contains the genetic information of the cell packaged in the form of chromatin. The nucleus is a characteristic feature of most eukaryotic cells.
OpenStudy (malcolmmcswain):

The center of the nucleus is called the nucleolus.
OpenStudy (malcolmmcswain):
Let's try to label all that on your cell diagram.
OpenStudy (stuck-help):
ok
OpenStudy (malcolmmcswain):
What do you think D would be? keep in mind d and e both make up the nucleus of the cell
OpenStudy (stuck-help):
nucleolus

That's correct! :D
OpenStudy (malcolmmcswain):
And what do you think E would be?
OpenStudy (stuck-help):
chromatin
OpenStudy (malcolmmcswain):
That's correct! ^_^
Chromatin is where the cell's DNA is kept.
OpenStudy (malcolmmcswain):
Surrounding the nucleus are strange ribbony strips called endoplasmic reticulum.

There are two types of endoplasmic reticulum, smooth and rough.
OpenStudy (malcolmmcswain):
endoplasmic reticulum is a network of membranous tubules within the cytoplasm of a eukaryotic cell, continuous with the nuclear membrane. It usually has ribosomes attached and is involved in protein and lipid synthesis.

List the products of glycolysis. How many APT molecules are produced and consumed by glycolysis? What effect does the presence of oxygen have on the event that follow glycolysis?
OpenStudy (stuck-help):
i got them all thank you

ok... good job?
OpenStudy (malcolmmcswain):
How did you get them?
OpenStudy (stuck-help):
by looking at the pic you posted and matching them
OpenStudy (malcolmmcswain):
Oh... well, later you should study them, and learn more about the organelles of a cell... that's kinda cheating :/
