Renaissance art is much more secular or less religious. It used reference to Christianity but it represented a more outward look of the world. Medieval art focused on biblical characters and the art was usually made with duller colors. Renaissance art used rich colors to exemplify realism. Plus the artists loved to sign there names or put themselves in their pictures whereas medieval art was sometimes left anonymous. Renaissance art used perception, a very new concept for artists of the time, and had a noticeable vanishing point while Medieval art did not. Also, many Renaissance artists preferred to paint frescoes, and used oil based colors.
