help @pyxieyt

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the questions r in the attachment

OpenStudy (pyxieyt):

All?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes please

OpenStudy (anonymous):

16. B 17. C 18. D 19. B

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can anyone check if got the ones above correct? I would not want to give the wrong answers.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its ok

OpenStudy (pyxieyt):

20.A 21.C 22.D Hope i got it right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

20. D 21. D 22. A That should be all. :D I tried my best, so I apologize in advance if there are wrong answers. If you want to stick around for another opinion, that would be best.

OpenStudy (pyxieyt):

Oh to different answers XD

OpenStudy (pyxieyt):

20. has to be less than 6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Well, for 20, dividing by a negative changes the direction of the inequality sign. That is why it is D and not A.

OpenStudy (pyxieyt):

that (-1) i thought it was minus one xD

OpenStudy (anonymous):

20 is: -0.3n is less than or equal to 5.4 Are we talking about the same problem? Not sure where you get 6 and -1....that should be 22

OpenStudy (pyxieyt):

I was talking about 22. Sorry XD

OpenStudy (pyxieyt):

So it is 20. D 21. ? 22. D Right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That's fine, buddy. :D Well, for 22, you would add 1 to both sides... x<7 The only one with an open circle, meaning that it is NOT equal to anything, is A.

OpenStudy (pyxieyt):

You helped me out XD thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You're welcome. :) Now, for 21, you can immediately rule out C because the inequality has to be MORE THAN 380, as stated in the problem. They collected more than 380 cans, NOT at least 380 cans. You can rule out A because the inequality is less than 380 cans, which isn't what we are looking for. You know that 145 cans PLUS ''c'' will be more than 380 cans: 145+c > 380 Subtracting 145 from both sides gets you: c >235 The answer, therefore, has to be D. If you have any more questions on how I got the answers, please let me know. You might still want to get another opinion, just in case I am wrong. I hope I have helped! :D

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Please understand, all of you, that asking "just for answers" and providing answers with no explanation or work is FORBIDDEN on OpenStudy.

OpenStudy (mathmale):

Don't you want to develop the skills necessary to solve these problems on quizzes or tests? If so, learn and practice solving these problems.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, I am sorry. I have explained several of my answers, but not all of them. I will explain the rest of them, then. I hope you can forgive me, mathmale.

OpenStudy (pyxieyt):

I am very sorry. I will try to explain my answers too. @mathmale

OpenStudy (pyxieyt):

I realised on most I made mistakes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For, 16, you see that the line goes toward the left. The numbers included are SMALLER than -2, so the answer must hold that to be true. There is also a black circle at -2, meaning it is included in the inequality (equal to). You can eliminate A and C, since neither of the inequalities have ''equal to'' symbols. You can eliminate D, which says that x is BIGGER than -2, which is NOT TRUE. The only answer choice left is B.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For 17, notice that it says ''at least 6''. This can be translated as ''....or equal to 6''. The answer must contain the ''equal to'' symbol. A and B are eliminated, then. Since AT LEAST 6 people applied for the job, this means there can be more (least is minimum). D is therefore eliminated. The only inequality satisfying all of these criteria is C.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For 18, you must solve for x by ''isolating'' it. Subtract 17 from both sides. You get: x is less than or equal to -22. The only inequality that matches this is D.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

For 19, you must solve for z. To do this, you must divide by 4. This gets you: z > -15 The answer, therefore, is B.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@mathmale, I have finished explaining all my problems. I hope they are satisfying to you. If you have any questions, please let me know. In an earlier message, I sincerely apologized for not having all of my explanations complete. From now on, I shall explain faster and completely. :D
