First, please explain in your own words what "average rate of change from x=a to x=b" means in this context. It might help you to write "average rate of change of this function" instead of just "average rate of change." In your worksheet, textbook, or on the Internet, you should be able to find a formula for "average rate of change of a function on an interval."
