WILL MEDAL

OpenStudy (asad786):

Even people within the same religious sects sometimes decided to go their separate ways, something that was easy to do in the vast New World. This occurred when Thomas Hooker had a disagreement with Governor John Winthrop, though both men were Puritans. Hooker believed that any adult male who owned property should be allowed to take part in colonial government, while Winthrop believed that only members of their Puritan church should be allowed to. When Hooker and his followers came to Hartford in 1636 and declared that they were only subject to Divine Authority, they had no legal right to the land. It would later become the colony of Connecticut. From which colony did this group of Puritans come? A. Pennsylvania B. New York C. Massachusetts D. Virginia

You were warned just a little bit earlier not to post questions in the wrong category. You are in the Math category now, but are posting a history question. I understand that there may not be many people in the history section, but that does not give you the green light to post your history questions here. Wait, please, until there are more people in the history section.

The answer is C. Massachusetts. Since John Winthrop became its governor in 1629, I believe the Puritans came from this colony. :)
