That's an excellent question. I'll try to answer the best I can. My reference is the fact that I am a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints also known as Mormons and I've studied a lot of the doctrine an principles taught therein. This is actually a very common question. In fact I was asked it on a very regular basis when I was a missionary in Australia. First off, I'd like to say that Mormons are in fact Christian. We know Jesus Christ to be the Savior and Redeemer of the world as talked about in the old and new testaments. The reason for the accusation that we are not christian, I believe, has a lot to do with: 1) our belief that Jesus Christ and our Heavenly Father are two separate beings and 2) our belief in the Book of Mormon. Unfortunately after Jesus Christ was crucified there was a lot of confusion throughout the earth and eventually the different churches decided to get together and create something called the nicene creed in which they decided on the existence of the "trinity". I'll be honest and tell you that I still don't really understand what the trinity is and I haven't ever found someone who can adequately explain it to me. I think it's something like Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and the Holy Ghost are all the same person but in different forms but that goes against a lot of biblical events so I must have it wrong. Mormons believe in a Godhead consisting of Heavenly Father, Jesus Christ, and Holy Ghost. They are separate individuals with different roles in our salvation. The reason it's so hard for people to accept the Book of Mormon I think is because it's something different. But if you look at it as "Another Testament of Jesus Christ" as it says on the cover, it's nothing to be afraid of. It's simply an account of the people in another land with prophets trying to follow the Lord just like the Bible. If we were to follow the admonition of Paul, we would "seek after anything virtuous, lovely, of good report or praiseworthy." It's simply more truth, but I suppose it may go against the traditional view of "Christianity." At any rate, Mormons believe both the Bible and the Book of Mormon to be the word of God. Sorry it's lengthy, but it's true. Find out for yourself.

As far as my knowledge is concern, I believe Mormons don't have Bible but "Trible". They use the Old and New Testament and an additional Book of Mormons. They also practice polygamy or plural marriage..

Sorry, but I'm afraid you've got it wrong. First off, it's the Book of Mormon, singular, compiled by a man named Mormon in ancient American times. And we also study the king James version of the Bible. Second, we do not practice any form of polygamy whatsoever. What is required for a person to claim christianity as their own? Isn't it simply a conviction of the mission of our Savior Jesus Christ and a continued effort to be more like Him. From the words of a religious song I love, "Have Faith, have hope, live like His Son, help others on their way." What else is there?

Mormonism actually has a lot of issues. False prophecies, historical inaccuracies, and so much more. Christianity, in my opinion, does not.
