Newton's Method (I'm probably bad at using a calculator).

OpenStudy (zenmo):

OpenStudy (zenmo):

x2= 1.5-((1.5^4) - 2 x(1.5^3) + 7 x (1.5^2)-8)) / ((4x(1.5^3)-6x(1.5^2)+14x1.5)). As I put this on to the calculator, x=multiply. I get 9 decimal places instead of 6.

OpenStudy (zenmo):

In this problem example of "practice another version," I do the same input as I did for the example and gotten 6 decimals.

OpenStudy (zenmo):

So, I don't know why I'm getting 9 decimals instead of 6 for the first part for x2.

OpenStudy (zenmo):

By keep solving up to x5, and etc. The decimal places are still 9.

OpenStudy (loser66):

you just keep the result as it is, get x6, then take just 6 decimal digits. Dat sit.

OpenStudy (zenmo):

so I would round it up to 6 decimals?

OpenStudy (zenmo):

when I get two lines that have the same x value?

OpenStudy (zenmo):

lines= x1, x2, x3, xn etc...
