@directrix can you help me with this question, please?

@pooja195

Directrix (directrix):

Is this one question or maybe 4 questions?

OpenStudy (liv1234):

It's one question, but I couldn't screenshot it all in one, the very first one is the question part, then the four ones are the options (ABCD)

Directrix (directrix):

Look for the graph that passes through the point (0, -2). That is a point on y = x^2 - 2 .

Directrix (directrix):

Got it. Proceed with the above ^^^^

Directrix (directrix):

When you think you have found this, post it. Look for the graph that passes through the point (0, -2).

OpenStudy (liv1234):

I know how to graph and stuff, but I don't know which option it is because there aren't any numbers on the options.

OpenStudy (liv1234):

It's not option C because it doesn't pass through those points.

Directrix (directrix):

(0, -2) is on the negative portion of the y-axis. Only one graph crosses the negative y-axis. Which one is it?

OpenStudy (liv1234):

It's not C or D because they don't pass the negatives. Or B. So it must be A because that is the only one that goes through the negatives, correct?(:

OpenStudy (liv1234):

Did I do it wrong? Or is A the correct option?

Directrix (directrix):

Which looks like this?

OpenStudy (liv1234):

A

Directrix (directrix):

I think you would find Demos.com helpful. Go there when you have time and practice graphing. It's an intuitive site.

OpenStudy (liv1234):

I do use it.(: I find it very helpful, but is it option A?

Directrix (directrix):

A, Correct. The first option after the question.

OpenStudy (liv1234):

Can you help me with one more question, please?

OpenStudy (liv1234):

Directrix (directrix):

How many times does the graph cut the x-axis? That is the answer.

OpenStudy (liv1234):

2 times, I believe, is that correct?

Directrix (directrix):

Correct.
