\[2x^2+x+2=0\]?

OpenStudy (liv1234):

I'm not sure. That's why I'm confused.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah i think it was just typeset poorly

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the solution to \[ax^2+bx+c=0\] is \[x=\frac{-b\pm\sqrt{b^2-4ac}}{2a}\] in your case \(a=2,b=1,c=2\)

OpenStudy (liv1234):

@Smart_Owl_Student I don't appreciate you sending me rude messages. And @satellite73 so, basically I would just plug in those numbers?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

es exactly

OpenStudy (liv1234):

So, -1 plus over minus sqrt 1^2-4*2*2/2*2?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes that is the first step
