Is 1/a^n a geometric function?! I honestly have no clue

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no this is not a geometric function

OpenStudy (jellybot23):

Can you explain why? @MW3030

OpenStudy (anonymous):

each term is found by multiplying the previous term by a constant

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Example: 2, 4, 8, 16, 32, 64, 128, 256, ...

OpenStudy (jellybot23):

Yes, so in this case each term is multiplied by 2. But how does that apply because 1/2, 1/4, 1/8, 1/16 could be a geometric function as well

OpenStudy (jellybot23):

@MW3030

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no because it is a fraction and it does not work with fractions

OpenStudy (jellybot23):

Oh okay, thank you!
