OpenStudy (winsteria):

A line has a slope of –3/2 and has a y-intercept of 3. What is the x-intercept of the line? 1)–3 2)–2 3)2 4)3

OpenStudy (winsteria):

@sdfgsdfgs

OpenStudy (russianboss1):

3)2 just plug in the graphing calculator y=-3/2+3

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

She may not be able to use a graphing calculator on a test

OpenStudy (winsteria):

Thank you though

OpenStudy (pawanyadav):

y=-3/2x+3 =>y+3/2x=3 => y/3+x/2=1 =>y/b+x/a=1 Here a=2 is x intercept

OpenStudy (pawanyadav):

And b=3 is y intercept

OpenStudy (shadowlegendx):

You donʻt even have to do what he did above, just graph it. Or use your head. We know 3 is the y intercept, so that just means itʻs 3 units up from (0,0). Using our head, if the slope is -3, it will go down 3 units, and then to the right 2 units. Rise over Run If it goes down 3, and over 2, it will be at (2,0) Crossing the x-axis at 2
