Will medal and fan! :) Solve the absolute value inequalities.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Give me one sec

OpenStudy (anonymous):

|2m - 2| > 5

OpenStudy (confxsedaf):

do u know what the first step is?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

add or subtract two ?

Nnesha (nnesha):

when we remove absolute bar we will get two equations \[\rm \left| a-b \right| >c \] would be \[\rm a-b>c ~~~,~~a-b <-c\] for the negative one you should flip the inequality sign

OpenStudy (anonymous):

add two to each side?

OpenStudy (confxsedaf):

@Nnesha is right...you would want to change up to equation so let use -(2m-2)>5 then you solve

OpenStudy (anonymous):

m > 7 ?

OpenStudy (confxsedaf):

yeah but you forgot its supposed to be m>7/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

does that mean to divide? 7/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or is that a fraction?

OpenStudy (confxsedaf):

no you are done that is one absolute value the other one is 2m-2>5 without the ||

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh Okay thank you @confxsedaf and @Nnesha !

Nnesha (nnesha):

there should be 2 solutions..
