Algebra 1 Help.I will medal and fan Solve the combined inequality 0.4 < y + 1.2 < 0.6

OpenStudy (lovelovelovehelp):

(−0.8,−0.6)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are you sure? :)

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Having shown no work, neither of you is officially sure. Show YOUR work.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes I need the explaination

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

You should provide YOUR work, first. It is must easier to help you if we know where you are. You CAN'T have NOTHING. It's just not possible. Have you considered subtracting 1.2 from each of the three sections?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

@tkhunny Yes That would be 0.4 < y <- 0.6

OpenStudy (tkhunny):

Be very careful with your arithmetic. Don't be afraid to write it down. 0.4 < y + 1.2 < 0.6 Subtract 1.2 0.4 - 1.2 < y + 1.2 - 1.2 < 0.6 - 1.2 -0.8 < y + 0 < -0.6 -0.8 < y < -0.6 Looks like you subtracted from only two pieces, Get all three!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ohh I didnt know that I needed to do it from all three @tkhunny thank you so much for showing me how to do it!
