So you're saying the sentence would be like this "On the way to the playground, hoping to keep his shoes dry, Billy avoided a large puddle."
I'm kinda confused.
Try reading the site I linked you, it explains a bit of this. I am trying to figure it out as well
Ok.
I don't think any of those examples are similar to my question.
I think that the examples are similar though, " Riding the ferris wheel, my mom waved to me when I was at the top." "riding the ferris wheel" is a misplaced participle kind of like "hoping to keep his shoes dry" they all seem most similar to that agree?
Well if "hoping to keep his shoes dry" is the misplaced participial phrase, then where should it be placed in the sentence?
Hoping to keep his shoes dry on the way to the playground, Billy avoided a large puddle. Does that make sense at all? I'm trying to decide if it does...
Will it be "Hoping to keep his shoes dry dry on the way to the playground, billy avoided a puddle"
I think that makes sense don't you?
It does, but im thinking if there's a different way.
Ok I guess that's the answer, Thank you ^-^
Of course! Sorry i am not that educated on this particular thing but I hope I could help c:
