HELP FOR MEDALS what type of structure is candle wax?

OpenStudy (13ziar):

@Nnesha what type of structure is candle wax

OpenStudy (13ziar):

@pooja195 help please

OpenStudy (sasquat):

what do u mean structure? like what does it consist of?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Since candle wax releases fire it is a combustion reaction. Combustion reactions usually involve hydrocarbons. Hydrocarbons are made up of C+H. For example, natural gas is made up of one C and for H (CH4). The general formula for hydrocarbons is: \[C_nH _{2n+2}\] For the exact formula of paraffin wax used in candles see https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Paraffin_wax

OpenStudy (13ziar):

@LeibyStrauss @sasquat but i mean the structure as like e.g. giant crystal structure

OpenStudy (ramzy197):

candle wax is a hydrocarbon but im not sure what structure it is

OpenStudy (13ziar):

ok but i need the structure

OpenStudy (mathstudent55):

Candle wax is amorphous.

OpenStudy (abb0t):

I think it's a sort of polymer. But don't quote me on that.

OpenStudy (13ziar):

thanks all
