Is "dicey" an informal word?
Although, for Figure 4 and after, the oscilloscope readings got dicey. Channel 2 shows clipping of the wave. The gain exceeded the voltage expected. Non-ideal saturation effected the output; the integrity of the signal was compromised. Then, shown in Figure 5, the DC power supply is set back to +/- 15V. The integrity of the signal returns to normal. This demonstrates that the DC power supply affects the operational amplifier waveform in the form of clipping when set too low.
Hi there, @adamaero! I think dicey is a informal word. Taken from Dictionary.com. "1. unpredictable; risky; uncertain." So if I were to use this in a sentence. Like so: Looks we're in a dicey situation. I believe it isn't something formal. However, I did some research and found this. http://www.engvid.com/english-resource/formal-informal-english/ Notice how the informal words mean the same thing but they are more "babyish" If dicey means tricky or unpredictable, and dicey is just another word saying the same thing,(like in the link I gave you), then YES, IT IS A FORMAL WORD.
Medal, if helped?
Medal, because you did work (research)
