It's a city design project for my geometry class. I'm supposed to graph 5 other lines that are parallel to the points (-2, 7) and (10,-1). I'm trying to figure out how to find what those other points are. @mathmale

thanks for the clarification. Please find the slope of the line that passes thru the points (-2,7) and (10,-1). Once you have the numeric value of this slope, subst. it into the slope-intercept equation of a straight line, y = mx + b. Now, choose 5 different values of b and write the corresponding 5 equations representing parallel streets.

In typing "lines that are parallel to the points (-2, 7) and (10,-1)" you actually mean "lines that are parallel to the line through the points (-2, 7) and (10,-1). Lines are not parallel to points; they are parallel to other lines.
