A little help please?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (gabebae):

y-y1=m(x-x1) m = the equal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Explain please? I don't think I understand that.

OpenStudy (gabebae):

that's the point-slope form

OpenStudy (gabebae):

m = the slope x1, y1 are the given points x, y are any points

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The point is (2, -6)

OpenStudy (gabebae):

okay so then you get (y--6) = m(x-2) the two negatives cancel out so it'll become (y+6) = m(x-2) now what's the slope?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh! I see how it is, so that'd make my answer y + 6 = -3/4(x - 2). Thanks a lot.

OpenStudy (gabebae):

yes remember that the signs in the point-slope form are always negative so don't confused with that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Will do, thanks.
