OpenStudy (jesuslover11):

Which graph shows a proportional relationship

OpenStudy (jesuslover11):

OpenStudy (jesuslover11):

@AlexandervonHumboldt2

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

a proportional relationship, is a mathematical relation between two variables, say \(x\), and \(y\), such that, the subsequent condition holds: \(y=k\cdot x\), where \(k\) is any real number different from zero: \(k \neq 0\)

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

for example we can assume \(k=2\), so we get: \(y=2x\)

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

now, if I replace \(x=0\), i get: \(y=2x=2 \cdot 0=...?\) please continue

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

please what is \(2 \cdot 0=...?\) @jesuslover11

OpenStudy (jesuslover11):

0

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

that's right! So the proportional relationship can be represented by a line which passes at point \((0,0)\), namely the origin. So, what is the right option?

OpenStudy (jesuslover11):

graph 1

OpenStudy (michele_laino):

that's right!! :)

OpenStudy (jesuslover11):

Thank you sooooo much!!

OpenStudy (michele_laino):
