5t-2r=25
add 2r to both sides, what do you get?
OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):
hint...it cancels on the left side
OpenStudy (shaleiah):
t=25+2r
OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):
Nope, you forgot the 5 before t :P
OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):
5t=25+2r
so then, divide both sided by 5.
t=25/5+2r/5
Can you simplify one of those things?

OpenStudy (shaleiah):
Yes. \[t=\frac{ 25+2r }{ 5 }\]
OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):
Well, 25/5 is 5. So it's just \[t=5+\frac{2r}{5}\]:)
OpenStudy (shaleiah):
Sorry, Im not good at literal equations :/
OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):
Eh?
OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):
Don't be sorry...

So, shall we go onto the next one?
OpenStudy (shaleiah):
Yeah,
xD that's what my instructor named these type of equations.
OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):
oh lol
OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):
\[D=\frac{11}{5}(P-15)\] first we can divide both sides by 11/5 (or multiply both sides by 5/11 ;)
OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):
So \[\frac{5}{11}D=P-15\]then add 15 to both sides to get\[P=\frac{5}{11}D+15\]! :D

Do you mean linear equations, not literal? o.O
OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):
Interesting
OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):
It can be...but it's not necessary :P
OpenStudy (shaleiah):
Thanks for the help :)
OpenStudy (haleyelizabeth2017):
No problem.
