PLEASE HELP! MEDAL! @amistre64

@amistre64 @dan815 @johnweldon1993

OpenStudy (pawanyadav):

I think 2,4 are point if inflection because point of inflection means f''(c)=0 But the graph is of f'(x) already We have to check only where slope of f'(x) become 0 and that are 2,4

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

how when I am not given the equation of the function?

OpenStudy (pawanyadav):

From graph

OpenStudy (pawanyadav):

If you know the graph of a function with points you can tell anything about the function............ @StudyGurl14

OpenStudy (amistre64):

points of inflection will appear in an interval that has a tangent slope of 0 at each end.

OpenStudy (amistre64):

we know (or can assume) 3 points on the graph that look as if they would have a slope of 0 ...

OpenStudy (amistre64):

doh! ... the given graph is f'

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the inflection points tend to be where the derivative, of the derivative, is equal to zero .... and determining if the slope changes sign i believe

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

but how do I find the second derivative with only the graph of f ' ?

OpenStudy (studygurl14):

@mathmale @Compassionate @SolomonZelman

OpenStudy (amistre64):

what does a derivative of a function tell us? something about the slope at a point right?
