I got -2 for the y intercept
OpenStudy (anonymous):
you are correct.
OpenStudy (anonymous):
so it would be (-2,2)
OpenStudy (unofficialllyy):
Thanks!

no problem :D
Nnesha (nnesha):
y-intercept is a point where line intersect y-axis when x=0
and x-intercept is apoint where line intersect x-axis when y=0
so when when x=-2 y isn't equal to 2
OpenStudy (anonymous):
x wouldn't be -2
OpenStudy (anonymous):
it would be 2
Nnesha (nnesha):
y-intercept is -2 that's correct
when x=0 y=-2 how would you write in order pair

Nnesha (nnesha):
as an order pair (x,y)
OpenStudy (unofficialllyy):
So its 2,-2
OpenStudy (anonymous):
but they are asking for the x and y
OpenStudy (anonymous):
yes
OpenStudy (unofficialllyy):
Yes x and y intercepts.

correct what did you get for x-intercept ??
=unofficially
OpenStudy (unofficialllyy):
2

when y=-2 x =0 so as an order pair you should write (0,-2) for y -intercept
OpenStudy (unofficialllyy):
I think it can only be 1 number though.
Nnesha (nnesha):
what do you mean ?

You said I should write (0,-2) for y intercept but I do not have the option to make parenthesis.
Nnesha (nnesha):
i'm just saying you can't write x and y intercept like (-2,2) this is wrong
that means when x=-2 y=2 which is not true you can loook at the graph
OpenStudy (unofficialllyy):
Oh got it. Yeah I know you couldnt write it as (-2,2). So I got x intercept= 2 and y intercept=-2. I dont write it as an ordered pair.
Nnesha (nnesha):
order pair (x,y) first number rrepresent x-coordinate
2nd number = y-coordinate
Nnesha (nnesha):
alright now looks good

Thanks!
Nnesha (nnesha):
np order would be (0,-2) for y-intercept and (2,0) for x-intercept
