OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok nvm. Just trying to help.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ummm...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You find it bye reading the first setence in the article and that may reveal the central idea or the main idea.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The central idea is the main topic, or what the paragraph is explaning about. Is that a good def?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes. great

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Did that help any?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How does it exactly relate to the rest of the text, because it's what the text is talking about? @Cylah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It relates to the rest of the text because it is what the article is pretty much about. Right.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The qualities of the central idea? What they mean by that? @Cylah

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what are the main things in a central idea. For example: -Main Idea -Element of a story -Based on characters, emotions and actions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Need more?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oh. The qualities are what make the story up?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes, pretty much

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-Setting -Character -Point of View -Tone

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The qualities of a central idea are what make the story up, the elements, setting, plot, characters. Is that good?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes. Perfect.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you should add tone in ti as well

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Tell me if this is good

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The central idea is what paragraph or topic talks about, in the story. You can find the central idea by looking at the title of the story or paragraph, or by looking at the first few sentences. The Central idea is what make up the story, such as tone, characters, settings, elements and plot line. The central idea is related to the text because, basically the text is about or is talking about the central idea.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is that good?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes. sounds great. are you doing home shcool?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yea

OpenStudy (anonymous):

me too

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How can I find a text's central idea? I don't understand what they mean by that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What they mean by that is what do you do to find the central idea or as I say the main idea.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You need the answer to that question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I already stated at how I would find it though.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yeah, because I don't understand it XD. I already stated how to find the central idea.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So, i think they want you to name the steps.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know these "steps"

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The central (main ) idea can be found in three places: 1. in the beginning of a text 2. near the end of a text 3. not stated but implied through most the sentences

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You need to state the: 1. Subject: 2. What are the topics discussed in the article: 3. What is the central point being made:

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So which do I write how I can find the central idea or what I need to state?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would put both. Just because they are asking both of these question. pretty much

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't know what to write for that.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What about this>

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nvm not working

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't understand how I would state that in a sentence?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

To find the central idea you must look at the beginning of the text. The end of the the text. Or it is not stated directly but it is implied.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That is part of what I would put

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to find the text's central idea?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

While finding it, you should state the subject, what the topics discuss, and what is the central point being made.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

there is no subject to state thou?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

IOH

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is how I would put it together. To find the central idea you must look at the beginning of the text. The end of the the text. Or it is not stated directly but it is implied. While finding it, you should state the subject, what the topics discuss, and what is the central point being made.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to find the text's central idea right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that paragraph is stating how to find it and what it includes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is that good?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you help me with one more after this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yea sure, be my guest. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what's the question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sec

OpenStudy (anonymous):

kk

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What inference can you draw from this passage from It was Never about the Ketchup? Explain how at least three specific details in the passage helped you form the inference. Your answer should be 3-5 complete sentences. Be sure to use correct grammar, spellling, and punctuation in your answer. H. J. Heinz never figured his time by its money value. He figured its value wholly in terms of what he could accomplish with it, and this same trait was one that marked his youth. Thus as he had done his share of the garden work without thinking of pay, he had done his share of work in the brick-making establishment without pay. However, when he reached twenty-one, his savings (which had been started with the wages he earned as a potato picker) amounted to enough to enable him to purchase a half-interest in his father's business, and his father was glad to have him.
