OpenStudy (campbell_st):

doesn't it basically say that an n degree polynomial had n roots... so may be repeated.. because of multiplicity

OpenStudy (yaya090600):

i have no clue but im timed

a test?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The Fundamental Theorem of Algebra states that for every single variable polynomial, there exists a root of that polynomial. The Factor Theorem states that if a single variable polynomial is given, then a factor can be computed by polynomial long division; then one can compute the remaining roots of the polynomial, including repeated roots, by factoring the dividend polynomial. Combining the two theorems leads us to believe that the roots can be found of any single variable polynomial through repeated division.
