OpenStudy (leahhhmorgannn):

A hormone attaches to a target cell at a receptor protein. What do you know about this hormone? It is a steroid hormone The hormone will bind directly to DNA It is able to pass through cell membranes The hormone will not enter the nucleus

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I ma not sure.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Give me a minute.

OpenStudy (leahhhmorgannn):

Alright.

OpenStudy (aaronq):

hormones are lipid-based, so It is able to pass through cell membranes

OpenStudy (aaronq):

oh wait, they're not all lipid based

OpenStudy (leahhhmorgannn):

I thought that initially, but my lesson also talked about the non-lipid hormones, non-steroids I think?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, they are non-steroids. That is it 100% sure!

OpenStudy (leahhhmorgannn):

But hormones that attach to the receptor proteins... don't they all attach to a protein, lipid based or not? I think it depends on WHERE the receptor protein is to determine whether they're lipid based or not.

OpenStudy (aaronq):

i think from the info given, it is A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Do you use FLVS?

OpenStudy (leahhhmorgannn):

yeah, that's what this is for. my A&P course.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That is what I thought, I do too.

OpenStudy (leahhhmorgannn):

so A? or do you think something else, Joe?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Um, A would be the best to go with.

OpenStudy (leahhhmorgannn):

okay. thanks.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yep. Any time.
