Determine which relation is a function. A. {(–4, 3), (–2, 3), (–1, 2), (2, 5), (3, 2)} B. {(–4, 1), (–2, 3), (–2, 1), (–1, 5), (3, 2)} C. {(–4, 1), (–2, 3), (–1, 2), (3, 5), (3, 2)} D. {(–4, 1), (–2, 3), (–1, 1), (–1, 5), (3, 2)}

OpenStudy (hhmorris98):

Do you know how to determine if something is a function?

No Not Really This Is something new to me

Draw graphs for each answer, marking the points on them, then draw a line connecting the points. That should help.

I got C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Nope, try again.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

C looks like this: https://i.imgur.com/TVkqX4t.png Note the points M and N are above eachother, this means that we have multiple inputs that give the same output, in this case f(2)=f(5) so this isn't a function.

A ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yep, well done!
