spose you want to go out to a squaredancing party ... it costs 12 dollars to get in and you have to pay 6 dollars for every hour you spend there ... how can you determine the total cost of going to the party?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

by how many hours you have spent in the the party?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

plus the 12 dollars you spent to get in

OpenStudy (amistre64):

thats what a variable is for ... it varies. we know that its 6 for every hour ... so for x hours that 6x dollars ..plus the 12 to get in costA = 12 + 6x

OpenStudy (amistre64):

if we spend 3 hours at the party .. how much does it cost us? if your friend only spent 1.5 hours .. how much did it cost them?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

18 dollas

OpenStudy (amistre64):

12+18..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

30

OpenStudy (amistre64):

12+9 for the friend

OpenStudy (anonymous):

that inst the question though

OpenStudy (amistre64):

i believe im stuck in lag ...

OpenStudy (anonymous):
