First, you have to make the denominators equal to each other: 2 1/2 = 2 2/4 3 3/4 = 3 3/4 Then, you can add it together: \[2\frac{ 2 }{ 4 } +3\frac{ 3 }{ 4 } = 5\frac{ 5 }{ 4 }\] That would make 6 1/4 (or B) If you simplified it all the way down!
