My answer for the first one is
OpenStudy (anonymous):
|dw:1449216740079:dw| I know that other section is 120 degrees. What would be the next step @Directrix

OpenStudy (superdavesuper):
the arc in question is 120 degree. what is the angle for a complete circle?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
360 Degrees
OpenStudy (superdavesuper):
for the complete circle, the circumference is...
OpenStudy (superdavesuper):
nope...360 has nothing to do with circumference :(
circumference of a circle is its diameter x....
OpenStudy (anonymous):
24 times 3.14 would give us the circumference ? 75.36?

OpenStudy (superdavesuper):
correct :) and that circumference is for the whole circle of 360 degrees.
now the arc u want to know is 120 degrees so.....
OpenStudy (anonymous):
I multiplied the diameter by pie to get the circumference so what formula would I apply to this to get the answer? If you give me a solution I will try to solve
OpenStudy (superdavesuper):
|dw:1449218073763:dw|
OpenStudy (anonymous):
would the answer be D? That's what I got as a final answer
OpenStudy (anonymous):
I think I may be going wrong somewhere

OpenStudy (dayakar):
length of the arc (l) = x/360 * pi * r^2
here x= 120, r =12 ft
OpenStudy (anonymous):
360 divided by 120 would Be 3
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Pi= 3.14
OpenStudy (anonymous):
12^2 = 144
OpenStudy (dayakar):
120 divided by 360 =1/3

OpenStudy (dayakar):
1/3 *pi *12*12
OpenStudy (dayakar):
48 pi
OpenStudy (anonymous):
EXACTLY
OpenStudy (superdavesuper):
length is not pi*r^2.... it is pi*2r....
OpenStudy (anonymous):
So I was correct the whole time

OpenStudy (dayakar):
sorry
l= x/360 * 2* pi*r
OpenStudy (dayakar):
l= 1/3*pi *2*12
OpenStudy (dayakar):
8*pi
OpenStudy (dayakar):
@superdavesuper thank u ,i was mistaken
OpenStudy (superdavesuper):
welcome @dayakar
@LetsLearn2000 8pi is the right ans :)

lol I could do the work but you guys were confusing me with all the different formulas. Thanks though I will keep practicing at these types of problems.
OpenStudy (superdavesuper):
@LetsLearn2000 u still got the second one - show us how u wuld calculate that! lol
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Well the circumference would be 113.04 when Multiplying 3.14 by 36 Correct?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
360 Degrees - 30 degrees would be 330 Degrees So that whole orange areas equals 330 degrees Correct?
OpenStudy (anonymous):
Area**

correct on both @LetsLearn2000
but i wuld leave the total circumference as 36pi instead.
