A fruit vendor has 28 pears and 16 oranges. What is the ratio of oranges to pears in simplest form?

OpenStudy (i_ask_alot):

@ShiBuringa and @Lexi_Loves can you guys help me please?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what number goes into 28 and 16 evenly?

OpenStudy (i_ask_alot):

@ash_heather1 4?

OpenStudy (lexi_loves):

2? can gointo 28 and 16 evenly

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4 and 7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea good :) 4

OpenStudy (lexi_loves):

*walks away*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

now how many times does 4 go into 28 & 16?

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

pay attention to the wording..oranges to pears = 16/28...now just reduce

OpenStudy (i_ask_alot):

28= 7 16=4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats right

OpenStudy (texaschic101):

now if it would have been pears to oranges...it would have been 28/16

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea you have to find a number that goes into 16 and 28 you can figure out the order they go into when you reduce the numbers

OpenStudy (i_ask_alot):

so is it 4/7

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yay!

OpenStudy (i_ask_alot):

Thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):
