OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The / is Divide

OpenStudy (igreen):

Can you clarify the exponent?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes its 1..

OpenStudy (igreen):

And the division? Is it this? \(\sf \dfrac{80}{15} - 6^0 + 5(5)\)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thats a fraction,.

OpenStudy (igreen):

Dividing two numbers and making them into a fraction is the same thing.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh..

OpenStudy (xmissalycatx):

First thing you will want to do is reduce your fraction to the smallest number you can make it to! You can divide both 80 and 15 by 5, so you would then get 16 over 3.. Now next you'll look at the -6 to the power of 0 which is -1.. Now you have 16/3 -1 +5(5) We all know 5(5) is 25, so now you have 16/3 -1 + 25 = __?__

OpenStudy (anonymous):

29 1/3

OpenStudy (xmissalycatx):

You are correct! :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanks

OpenStudy (xmissalycatx):

You're welcome.
