If its based off of THIS paragraph, I'd say A.
BUT in the book it said something about his master forbidding her to teach Douglass how to read actually made him WANT to learn how to read and he was defiant and secretly learned how to read. So then I'd say B.
Since its asking about that particular part, I'd go with A.
