Remember, this is OpenSTUDY,−−−−− NOT−−−−− OpenCHEAT! Due to this, you are NOT allowed to use OpenStudy as a service for tests, quizzes, exc. So if you are... be aware, YOU CAN GET SUSPENDED! (Also remember to be kind!) MEDAL, FAN, OR COMMENT IF YOU AGREE!
OS can only help!
Agree :)
This should be considered a "Medal Party" You can't ask for medals if you've done nothing. Sorry to be a "Backseat Moderator" but it isn't right.
no
Actually, the user is posting this just as a simple reminder- this isn't a medal party. I can see how you may think it could be as such, though.
this is a nice post not medal spamming
Also, people aren't cheating. The whole point of this place is to get help.
As long as people aren't giving DIRECT answers it isn't cheating.
asking questions from tests is cheating
dont screenshot a friggin test, type the dang problem out, geesh
because of the atni cheating policy of opesntudy and honors code of the school
That really depends on the situation. Any questions posted from Quizzes, Tests, and/or Exams is considered as cheating. Think of it this way: You're in class working on a test. Your teacher wouldn't let you ask a classmate for help or to check your answers, would they? Certainly not! That's considered as cheating, which is why we do not allow such content here.
lets stop spamming the post )
i thought they were at home online tests(still should be honest), do kids use this site in class on phones now or something?
Actually in my class "k12" our teachers give us the answers.
and ?
I don't understand how those questions could be considered cheating because that's all you see here. It's like calling the whole website a bunch of cheaters.
Most schools do not allow that. Public schools and various virtual schools have student agreements such as the Honor Code, which prohibits students from receiving help on Quizzes, Tests, and/or Exams. OpenStudy's Anti-Cheating Policy prohibits such content. If you want, you can give it a read. All users have agreed to OpenStudy's terms upon signup, therefore we expect all users to follow the said terms.
Also, yes, many users do post questions from such sources, but they're doing so in violation of OpenStudy's Anti-Cheating Policy. Things that are allowed here are ungraded assessments, such as study guides.
I'd suggest you read or review the Code of Conduct: http://openstudy.com/code-of-conduct That's the formal statement of OpenStudy rules that govern cheating, help with tests and the like. Please base any further discussion of these topics on what the Code says.
well. asking about test questions is written in TAC @mathmale
Wow. That's good to know.
Let the Code be the standard against which you measure and judge behavior on OpenStudy.
So I can't post anything from quizzes? Like overdone quizzes or retakes?
the time it takes to ask a test on this site, you could probably learn the material
If you're going to get credit for the work done, no, you can't. If you're reviewing problems on a quiz or test that has already been graded, go for it! I like DanJS ' s statement, immediately above.
I usually ask questions for things that aren't covered in our lessons. <I have terrible teachers this year>
Gracie: If your questions are about homework, practice sheets, etc., wonderful! If they're about quiz or test questions for which you earn credit, asking for help with them is forbidden. Help yourself best by asking for clarification of things your teacher doesn't explain well, and do this BEFORE you take your test or quiz.
@mathmale Can we get answer explanations? Or Answer checks. Like reassurance?
Depends on what you're asking for explanations/answer checks on. Like I said above, your teacher certainly wouldn't allow you to ask a fellow classmate to check your answers on your test, nor would they allow another student to explain an answer to you on your test. For study guides/ungraded assessments, yes.
Gracie: Again, if you 're working on a test or quiz that affects your grade, no, you cannot ask for any kind of help. Still, if there were one word you didn't understand, I just might explain the meaning.
Coolio. Thanks Guys.
Thanks for posting this! I don't think a lot of students on here even realize that they're cheating when they post questions from quizzes and tests. As someone from an online school, I have some tips: 1. Instead of posting questions from quizzes and tests, go through some of the problems in your textbook and ask about them here. That way you'll be better prepared for the assessment and won't need outside help. 2. Realize the consequences for cheating. Even if you don't think you're cheating, your teachers think otherwise. You can be caught. This results in your parents being called and possible removal from the class and even the school. 3. Quick checks are a very small portion of your grade. Do them without being afraid to miss questions. After you're done, that's when you can post any questions you need help with. That will prepare you for the tests. 4. ALWAYS DO THE PRACTICE PROBLEMS BEFORE THE QUIZ.
@verlieren : What a very well-written and thoughtful response. Thank you very much!
Sure thing! It just saddens me that people don't think about their future. If you aren't actually mastering the lessons, how are you going to do on the SAT and ACT? How will it look to colleges if you have records of cheating? It does more harm than good in the end.
OK everyone.. I spent my time reading your comments and wow... a lot of opinions! First, I did NOT do this for medals... I did it because I see a lot of people doing tests on OS. Second, @GracieBugg thank you for your feedback... but please also remember to be kind... I'm certainly not saying you can't say your opinion. And Finally, @verlieren I appreciate your thoughts. Guys, I know I'm NOT a moderator, but I care about you... and yes, you too! Thank you...
did you just erase my existence from this post?
Very good point, @verlieren. This is why we are here to help users to STUDY, and not to cheat.
:< Ihy.....byyyyyyeeeee
No, your comments were on the post over in OS Feedback. @Anaise
Lol a lot of peeps cheat on here xD
Great reminder!! C:
WHY IN MATH
Because it's the most studied subject on OS c:
BAD REMINDER YOU POSTED THIS IN EVERY CHAT, ON TWO STUDY SECTIONS I THINK WE KNOW ENOUGH </3
Because Moderators said I should post this where it would be seen a lot...
It's a great reminder, Anaise c: Just to make sure everyone sees it! :D
But shouldn't it be in OpenStudy feedback
Yes, what Smart Owl said lol :p
Not everyone sees OpenStudy Feedback :p
so wat....there's a tag feature
Then you'd have to tag everyone ._.
Yes, but it takes a long, long time to tag everyone...
It's just easier to post it in a section where EVERYONE can see it :D
but what about the people who don't study math
She/ her posted it in 2 subjects right? :o
*he
And, I hope you guys know I didn't do this to be noticed someone said that to me...
We know, Smart Owl c:
can i get help with my question
unfortunately, I think that, we can't change someone's thoughts all he time
SURE GOKU, IT COULD BE A TEST BUT SHE WOULDN'T KNOW COZ YOU DIDN'T SAY
True, we can't always change someone's thoughts , but we can do what we are able to do! :3
@Gokuporter If you need help, please post it in a different post... Thanks!
PEACE SELAH
Everyone, I appreciate you participating... I am closing the post now. I will be posting the same thing occasionally, so be on the hunt! Thank you everyone! I will consider your thoughts...

This post is okay. It's relevant in all subjects, not just OpenStudy Feedback.
