OpenStudy (mathmale):

happy to be of help, but I noticed you got help with the definition of "predicate nominative" about 20 minutes ago. I'd suggest you make certain you understand what "predicate nominative" means, and then apply that to further questions, instead of asking others to check your work for you.

OpenStudy (jessicahw):

D. A predicate nominative names a subject already established earlier in the sentence. In the 2nd clause of the sentence, "Maggie" would be the subject, and "award" would be the predicate nominative because it renames "Maggie" as the name of an award.

OpenStudy (jessicahw):

And - "captain" renames "quarterback" so "captain" is the predicate nominative. Predicate adjective describes something earlier named, so "heavy" describes "melon" because the "melon should be heavy", so "heavy" is the predicate adjective

OpenStudy (roku):

1)D 2)D 3)unsure but i think its A or (heavy sweet and pleasant)
