So you've learned that chlorophyll asorbs the sunlight. There's chlorophyll a and b, and both aborbs light of pretty much every color but green and a bit yellow. So that's why every color is absorbed but green, and green is instead reflected.

When there's green light, its not absorbed, and there isn't light energy to power photosynthesis. When photosynthesis stops, its products, which includes oxygen, stops getting produced, lowering the "flow" of oxygen
