PLEASE HELP! EXAM TOMORROW MEDAL GIVEN A die is rolled 50 times with the following results. Outcome 1 2 3 4 5 6 Frequency 3 12 13 7 0 15 Compute the empirical probability that the die comes up a 5.

@phi

OpenStudy (phi):

empirical probability is what you found by doing the experiment how many times did you roll 5 in this experiment? then divide that number by the total number of rolls (50 in this case)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5/50

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and then i simplify?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

1/10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but that's not in my answer choices

OpenStudy (phi):

How many times did you roll a 5? Are you misreading your data? The answer is not 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh so it would be 0/50?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what does frequency mean in this case?

OpenStudy (phi):

the top line is what you rolled the second line is how often you got that number. (notice they add up to 50: each of the 50 rolls had to be some number) and in this case, none came up as a 5 (the dice must not be "fair")

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay, i understand now. can you help me with another problem?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

or should i repost it?
