MsBrains (ms-brains):

Does anybody know how to solve this? And please check 2 of my practice problems? I will medal!

MsBrains (ms-brains):

I have no idea. please help?

MsBrains (ms-brains):

@peak Do you know this?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

let me check one sec

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is their a graph or anything

MsBrains (ms-brains):

Nope. ;-;

OpenStudy (anonymous):

here ill see if i can find someone you can ask

MsBrains (ms-brains):

Okay, thank you

OpenStudy (anonymous):

np

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ParthKohli should be able to help

OpenStudy (hperez777):

the answer is 2

OpenStudy (hperez777):

the formula to find the slope is y2 - y1 divided by x2 - x1

MsBrains (ms-brains):

Are you sure..? @hperez777

MsBrains (ms-brains):

@iGreen Can you please make sure it is 2

OpenStudy (fortytherapper):

He's correct. The coordinates of a point on a graph are (x,y), right? So in order to find the slope, you have to make a fraction. You find the first value by subtracting the y in the second coordinate from the first. That's your numerator. To find the denominator you do the same thing, but with the x values

MsBrains (ms-brains):

Can you help with 2 more? @FortyTheRapper

OpenStudy (fortytherapper):

You would do the same thing on this one also. Find the difference of the y coordinates (Remember, the second value minus the first value), then the difference in x coordinates. Put your y answer in the numerator, x in the denominator, and let me know what you get

MsBrains (ms-brains):

I get C, 4/7..

OpenStudy (fortytherapper):

Almost, the math is right, but you seemed to switch the x and y coordinates around

MsBrains (ms-brains):

so it would be D then, 7/4 That's what you mean be switched around..right?

OpenStudy (fortytherapper):

Yes, exactly

MsBrains (ms-brains):

Awesome. Okay last one. I have no clue what it is,

OpenStudy (fortytherapper):

For this one, we like solving for y and looking for x. Would you know the steps in which to get the equation into y = ? I could walk you through if not

MsBrains (ms-brains):

I think it's A, 1/2

MsBrains (ms-brains):

I think I understand how to solve, I just want to make sure my answer is correct @FortyTheRapper

OpenStudy (fortytherapper):

Ahh, then yes you are correct! Good one

MsBrains (ms-brains):

Thank you!

OpenStudy (fortytherapper):

Anytime!
