1.Simplify: 3/2+(-7/3)

OpenStudy (mathmale):

You'd probably find this problem to be slightly easier if you'd rewrite it as\[\frac{ 3 }{ 2 }+(\frac{ -7 }{ 3 })\]

OpenStudy (mathmale):

To add or subtract two fractions, we MUST first manipulate them so that they have the same denominator, which we call the Least Common Denominator. Can you find the LCD by looking at the denominators of these 2 given fractions?

OpenStudy (cookiemonster18):

-0.8333333

OpenStudy (cookiemonster18):

@mathmale

OpenStudy (crystal_bliss):

-0.8333333 would be your answer for decimal form. is there anything else you need?

OpenStudy (cookiemonster18):

how do I turn it into a fraction? @Crystal_Bliss

OpenStudy (crystal_bliss):

oh thats what i thought you needed

OpenStudy (crystal_bliss):

Simplify brackets 3/2 − 7/3 2 Simplify −5/6 <------ would be your fraction and you divide t and it would give you your decimal form so you just simplify the brackets.

OpenStudy (crystal_bliss):
