|dw:1450013911663:dw| the acceleration is the gravity g = -9.8 m/s^2 =- 34.174 ft/s^2(opposite direction of motion) vf^2 = vi^2 + 2 gs s -> displacement. vf -> final speed (0) vi -> initial speed (16) g-> -34.174 s -> that's what we are looking for s = vf^2 - vi^2/2g After finding s sum s + 24 feet = maximum height.
