OpenStudy (desmarie):

would you say that every square is a rhombus?

OpenStudy (alexandervonhumboldt2):

because all sides are equal

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

rhombus = all 4 sides are equal square = all 4 sides are equal & all 4 angles are equal (to 90 degrees)

OpenStudy (desmarie):

so a square would always be a rhombus?

OpenStudy (alexandervonhumboldt2):

yeah

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

if you think about it in terms of venn diagrams, the set of squares is the overlapping region between the set of rectangles and the set of rhombuses |dw:1450139460602:dw|

OpenStudy (desmarie):

ok got it

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

yes, a square is always a rhombus but not the other way around

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

sorry typo |dw:1450139540406:dw|

OpenStudy (desmarie):

it is ok I got it the first rime

OpenStudy (frozen15):

This answer is yes , cause when drawing a square , you rotate the square slightly to make a rhombus , also knowing that the square is also a rectangle's side , these shapes are equally made all in one piece , like a three-piece set that came with a shirt , pants , and hat , they all make a shape and size equally
