I already asked this and someone answered: Factor out the common term x −x(85−f)=55 Divide both sides by 85−f −x=55/85−f Multiply both sides by −1 x=−55/85−f Can someone explain this to me please???????? Thank you!

PART A) What is the y-intercept of the function, and what does this tell you about the turtle? PART A) What is the y-intercept of the function, and what does this tell you about the turtle? @ayeedomo does it make sense cuz i typed it out the math book

OpenStudy (fortytherapper):

I would definitely not factor first. I would first get the -85x to the other side of the equal sign first. Would you know how to do that?

OpenStudy (ayeedomo):

Do you mean turn it into slope intercept form? I originally had it like that but the first part of the problem told me to turn it to standard form.

OpenStudy (fortytherapper):

Ah, I had no idea. My bad So you have Ax + By = C as -85x +f(x) = 55. f(x) also means y, so lets change that to -85x + y = 55 a.k.a. -85x + 1y = 55 Would you know how to find the slope and intercepts from this equation. I can go over them if you'd like

OpenStudy (pawanyadav):

-85x+f(x)=55 f(x)=85x+55 Now you have to plot y=85x+55

OpenStudy (ayeedomo):

Yes that would help if you went over it! Thanks :)

OpenStudy (fortytherapper):

To find the y-intercept, it's c/b. The C in this case is 55 and the B is 1 To find slope, it's -a/b. The A is -85 and the B is 1 You could also take it further and do the x-intercept, which is c/a. C being 55 and A being -85 I would do the slope and Y intercept, graph it completely, then check with the X-intercept to see if it is done right

OpenStudy (ayeedomo):

Ok thanks :D @FortyTheRapper @Pawanyadav

OpenStudy (fortytherapper):

Anytime, you could also use @Pawanyadav point-slope form to check if you matched. Have a good one

OpenStudy (ayeedomo):

You too :) @FortyTheRapper
