OpenStudy (melodycrazysouthern):

5y - 10 = -25.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you supposed to solve it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

y=-3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

to get the answer you have to add 10 on both sides of the equation

OpenStudy (alexandervonhumboldt2):

first of all add 10 to both sides

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5y=-15

OpenStudy (anonymous):

5y-10=-25 +10 +10 5y= -15 divide by 5 y=-3

OpenStudy (alexandervonhumboldt2):

5y-10+10=-25+10 5y=-15 now divide both sides by 5: 5y/5=-15/5 y=?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first get the variable by itself by subtracting 10 from each side then you have 5y=-15 to get the variable by itself you have to divide by 5 on each side so y=-3
