1. Shirts with the a school's mascot were printed, and the tablet shows the number of people who bought them the first, second, third, and forth weeks after their release. Which graph could represent the data shown in the table? Weeks=1, 2, 3, 4 Number Of Sales=22, 50, 62, 75

OpenStudy (cookiemonster18):

OpenStudy (cookiemonster18):

@FortyTheRapper do you think you could help me with this?

OpenStudy (fortytherapper):

Alright, so as the weeks go up, does the sales go up or down?

OpenStudy (cookiemonster18):

the sales go up @FortyTheRapper

OpenStudy (fortytherapper):

Right, so we can delete two of those graphs automatically

OpenStudy (cookiemonster18):

the 3rd and 4th graph? @FortyTheRapper those are the ones that's going to get X'ed out since it seems as if there decreasing so it's between the 1st and 2nd graph, yes?

OpenStudy (fortytherapper):

Right! So now we have a graph that's a straight line and a graph that isn't. The straight line means we have a constant slope. Lets subtract the sales from week 4 and week 3, then 3 and 2, then 2 and 1 (Week 4 sales - Week 3 sales) = (75-62) = ? (Week 3 sales - Week 2 sales) = (62-50) = ? (Week 2 sales - Week 1 sales) = (50-22) = ?

OpenStudy (cookiemonster18):

(Week 4 sales - Week 3 sales) = (75-62) = 13 (Week 3 sales - Week 2 sales) = (62-50) = 12 (Week 2 sales - Week 1 sales) = (50-22) = 28 @FortyTheRapper

OpenStudy (fortytherapper):

Right. Are 13, 12, and 28 the same number? Nope, so it's not a straight line. Giving us one answer choice

OpenStudy (cookiemonster18):

The 2nd graph??? @FortyTheRapper

OpenStudy (fortytherapper):

The 2nd graph is a straight line, so it wouldn't be that one

OpenStudy (cookiemonster18):

Oh so it's the first graph because it kind of curves a little so it's not straight correct @FortyTheRapper it's A the first graph?

OpenStudy (fortytherapper):

Yep!
