If the cell can start dividing again after some number of hours pass from the start of the cell cycle, that number is the length of the cell cycle. The other numbers given are a breakdown of parts of the cell cycle, it appears. All of the time segments listed added together produce a number that is not one of the answer choices, so the "after 8 hours" portion cannot be an additional phase.

@annie12m while you may be the original poster, just because you are done with the question doesn't mean that all discussion must stop. The question is somewhat ambiguously worded, in my opinion (perhaps there's a diagram which we did not see). For 12 hours to be the correct answer, the problem's author must intend that we take the time listed for nucleus division as including the copying of genetic material, and that we not take the time listed for the cell to divide again as the total time, yet "After 8 hours, the cell will start dividing again." is a perfectly reasonable way to describe a repeating process such as the cell cycle, if you regard the start of division as the start of the cycle. And DNA duplication happens in interphase, not mitosis, so those two phases should not be lumped together!
