Please help me understand this problem

MsBrains (ms-brains):

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The point slope form of a line is y-y1=m(x-x1) where y1 is the y-coordinate of the first point and x1 is the x-coordinate of the first point

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Two points are labeled for you already so simply input these into the equation

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So if you input the first point (remember they refer to the first point from left to right) you get: y-(-1) = m(x-(-3)) y+1=m(x+3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Now find the slope which is y2-y1/x2-x1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

...Notably, the last two options are already eliminated because they don't have the form y+1=m(x+3), so your answer is one of the first two (A or B)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

...So find the slope and input that into the equation. What is the slope? @Ms-Brains
