What are malignant tumors? a. Tumors that grow slowly and do not spread from their original site. b. Tumors that grow fast and spread to neighboring tissues. c. tumors that start in blood-forming tissue and produce abnormal blood cells.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We already know what a tumor is so I won't go over that. But the word Maligant means very virulent or infectious. Now that you know that you can use context clues to figure out the answer.

OpenStudy (liv1234):

Malignant tumors are the types of tumors that once they appear in the body, they quickly spread throughout the whole body. They are extremely hard to get rid of because once they appear, they can't just be removed, they grow all over the body and don't stop. With this information, it should be clear on what the answer is.

OpenStudy (medicaldoctor):

Ok so you are correct but one thing is you forgot to mention more times than not it is a cancerous tumor. Malignant tumors are cancerous and are made up of cells that grow out of control. These cells attack the tissues in the body and spread. When it moves around it is known as metastasis. This is otherwise known as secondary cancer. Although metastases names don't change when the cancer moves through the tissues. So say it is Pancreatic Cancer when it moves to say the liver than it would still be called the same thing.
