OpenStudy (mathmale):

Try rewriting the given inequality as \[\sqrt{a}>\frac{ 1 }{ \sqrt{a} }\] and solving this for the variable a.

Atsie (atsie):

How come you switched it to a "greater then sign?" Like what does that do to enable me to solve for "a" easier.

OpenStudy (welshfella):

when dividing both sides of an inequality by a nehhative the sign is flipped

OpenStudy (welshfella):

* negative

Atsie (atsie):

Hmm, alright. So now whats the best way to solve for "a" ?

OpenStudy (welshfella):

to solve mathmale's inequality multiply both sides by sqrt a

Atsie (atsie):

"a" at this point means 1 right?
